Sometimes I wonder that it would be so much easier if the Big Plan for my life, designed and known by God before I was born, was laid out before me. I wonder if I would like it, seeing it from an earthly perspective. Being a sinner by nature and having turned away from God, I would hate it.

Sometimes I find it hard to believe that everything will happen how it is meant to. Our lives seem so long, yet they are just a spot on the canvas that is eternity, so that we seem to believe that time is too short, too long, not enough, too much.

What is time anyway? The Creator is out of time, so He can see it all. He sees our whole lives before we even take our first breath. Many people ponder the question of if they were given the opportunity to know the date of their death would they choose to know it? The Big Plan revealed to a lowly human who would screw it up, who would do everything they can to avoid their fateful death?

But we only have so many heart beats on this earth before we are called home, and each is ordained by the God of the world, each God-breathed and beautiful.

And then a massive curveball is thrown your way and you can’t even trust your own plan, let alone Gods. He seems so far away when you allow yourself to be caught up in the dramas of life.

But God is a good God, and He delivers His people. God’s plan for my life, although unknown, is perfect. And although I can’t see it now, I know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. I suppose my only prayer now is to rest in Him and trust Him to secure my life and my eternity…

And if I was asked the question would you like to know the day of your death, I would say no. Because everyday is exciting and new, and you don’t know if it is your last. Everyday can be used to expand the Kingdom of Heaven and every heartbeat and breath given to us by God can be used to glorify His name, no matter how many we have left. If I only had one last heart beat, one last song, one last smile, one last breath… I would use it to Praise God.

Praise God, Praise God, His love endures forever.
